Campaign: Stop Smoking this October

Stop smoking this October
Many will be aware that the NHS has launched their annual Stoptober campaign (www.nhs.uk/smokefree/stoptober) to help smokers quit the habit during October. Research suggests that if a smoker stays stopped for a 4 week period, they are 5 times more likely to stay stopped permanently.

'Eidgâh / Musallâ - Revive, fulfil and establish a forgotten Sunnah

Alhamdulillah, the Musallâ was a great success last Eid with approximately 1000 people attending. We now hope to build on that with an even greater show of support from the Muslims of Bolton.

Sayyidunâ Abû Sa'îd al-Khudrî RadhiyAllâhu 'anh says: "The Messenger of Allâh SallAllâhu 'alayhi wasallam would go out on the Day of Fitr and Adh-Hâ to the Musallâ ('Eidgâh)." [1]

Bolton 'Eidgâh / Musallâ - Revive the Sunnah to fulfil a forgotten Sunnah

On 'Eid al-Fitr 1435 (Monday 28th July 2014), we witnessed a momentous occasion for the people of Bolton. After many years, we were blessed with the first 'Eidgâh/Musallâ ('Eid performed outside on open ground) in Bolton. Inshâ-Allâh, this will be the first of many. After this great success where hundreds attended (with the Tawfiq of Allâh), let us make an effort again to continue this blessed Sunnah.
