This guide will help you use our Unpaid Zakâh Calculator. Please do not confuse this with our popular Zakâh Calculator.
Why would I need this calculator?
You may find this calculator useful in case of missed or unpaid Zakâh in the past either through ignorance, forgetfulness or otherwise. Unpaid Zakâh is considered a debt for Zakâh purposes, so when calculating Zakâh for previous years, you would exclude the Zakâh that's due from previous years as you calculate the Zakâh due in each year. This can become difficult to calculate, so this calculator will do the hard work for you. Let us know if you find it useful.
Select number of years
Choose the number of years that you wish to calculate the unpaid Zakâh for.
Choose single or different amounts
You may have a single amount that you'd forgotten to pay Zakâh on or didn't realise you had to pay Zakâh on. Here you can choose to enter either a single amount or a different amount for each year. When you make the selection, the required number of input boxes should automatically appear.
Enter the amount to pay Zakâh on
Enter the amount and (if you've chosen to enter different amounts) repeat for each year. The assumption is that you're above the nisâb level each year. If you're not, enter 0 for the amount for that year. For more information, please see the Zakâh calculator guide.
Results
When the page is reloaded with the results, you will notice that the input form is "hidden". You only need to click Unpaid Zakâh to display the form to change your options.
Your results will appear in a table with a row for each year which will display the Zakâh due in each year. Finally, there will be a total for the Zakâh due for all years.
If you have any feedback or notice any issues, please get in touch.
And Allâh knows best.
